Student Awards 2008
AND THE PENCIL GOES TO...

Well done to all the winners at the Student Awards Ceremony, including this year's Student of the Year.

You can view the winning work and the moving image winners.

You can also re-live the evening, with these images of the Ceremony on Flickr.

It gives D&AD the greatest pleasure to announce that the 2008 Student Annual has arrived. Designed by Domenic Lippa at Pentagram it features 388 pieces of work from some of the brightest students around the globe. It will be sent out at the end of September to all the major players in the industry highlighting the best of this year’s entries.

Speaking about the design Domenic Lippa said "For what its worth I think designing the D&AD Student Awards Annual is one of our toughest jobs. For a start there are different audiences - the tutors who want something which is serious and professional, students who want something fun and cool and the design industry who don't know what they want but will criticise you anyway!

This is the third time we have worked with D&AD on this project so we tried to produce something so reduced in its execution and styling, something so pure that only the idea came through. It was all about confidence and wit through the use of no-nonsense words.

Hopefully out of this the real stars will shine - that of the great and sometimes inspiring work that was either short listed or awarded in this year’s D&AD Student Awards Annual."
